London: Google is celebrating 166th birthday of Peter Carl Fabergé, also known as Karl Faberge Gustavovich in Russia with its colourful doodle on homepages across the world.

•  He was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia on May 30 [OS May 18] 1846

• He was a Russian jeweler, best known for the famous Faberge eggs, the eggs are made in the original style Easter, but using precious metals and gemstones rather than more simple materials.

• Ancestors of Gustav Faberge’s father was a Huguenot, originally from La Bouteille, Picardy, who fled from France after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, first to Germany near Berlin, then in 1800 for the Baltic province of Livonia, then part of Russia.

• He received education from respected goldsmiths in Germany, France and Britain, following the course at the College of Commercial Schloss, Paris, and looking at objects in the galleries of Europe’s leading museums.

• Travel and study continued until 1872, when at the age of 26 he returned to St Petersburg and Augusta married Julia Jacobs.

• Over the next 10 years, his father trusted workmaster Hiskias Pendin act as a mentor and tutor.

• After the death of Hiskias Pendin in 1882, Carl Faberge took responsibility for running the company.

• One of the Faberge display is a replica of a gold bracelet the 4th century BC Scythian Treasure of the Hermitage.

• Shortly after joining the company Agathon, House introduces object deluxe: bejeweled gold enamel decorated with items ranging from an electric bell push to the box of cigarettes, including the objects de fantaisie.

• In 1885, Tsar Alexander III commissioned the company to make the Easter egg as a gift for his wife, Queen Maria.

• Tsar ordered the other eggs in the next year. However, from 1887, Carl Faberge apparently given complete freedom in terms of design, which became increasingly complicated.

• The next Tsar, Nicholas II, ordered two eggs each year, one for his mother and one for his wife, Alexandra. This tradition continued until the October Revolution.

• In 1900 his work represented Russia at the World Exposition in the 1900s in Paris.

• As Carl Faberge was a member of the jury, because it exhibited Faberge Council hors concours (without competition). However, the House was awarded the gold medal and the city of Carl Faberge jewelry is recognized as a maître.

• In addition, Carl Faberge decorated with France’s most prestigious award – he was named a Knight of the Legion of Honor.

• Two sons, Carl and Workmaster head was also honored. Commercial, the exposition was a great success and the company obtained many orders of magnitude and the client.

Zombie apocalypse: Luka Rocco Magnotta arrested in Berlin

The 29-year-old Canadian porn actor accused accused of videotaping the murder of 33-year-old Lin Jun and mailing the victim's body parts to the country's political parties has been captured in Berlin.

Canada's the Globe and Mail reports that Capt. Guido Busch of the Berlin police confirmed Luka Rocco Magnotta's arrest Monday (June 4).

"Police were called by a person from the internet cafe. Colleagues went to the cafe and arrested a person we are sure is Mr. Magnotta," Busch says. "He is in jail and will go to a judge tomorrow. Our goal is to bring him to Canada as quickly as possible."

Police say Lin, who reportedly dated Magnotta, was killed in Magnotta's one-room flat the evening of May 24 to 25. His killing and dismemberment was filmed and posted online with viewers wondering for days if the video was real.

The horrific crime was one in a series of incidences recently that led some folks to think a zombie apocalypse is underway. It all seemed to start on May 26 when Rudy Eugene was shot and killed by a Miami police officer after eating almost the entirety of a homeless man's face off. Then on Tuesday, Maryland college student Alexander Kinyua allegedly confessed to killing his roommate and eating his heart and brain.

Canadian porn star accused of murdering a Chinese student and posting his body parts has been detained in Neukölln, say police

A man suspected of murdering and dismembering a student in Montreal has been arrested in a Berlin internet cafe, German police have confirmed.

Interpol issued an arrest warrant last week for Luka Rocco Magnotta, a 29-year-old Canadian, who faces first-degree murder charges over the videotaped death of Jun Lin, 33, a Chinese exchange student whose body parts were posted to political parties in the Canadian capital, Ottawa.

Police in Canada said last week Magnotta had probably left the country for France. However, detectives have since confirmed the suspect had taken refuge in Paris before boarding a bus to Berlin at the weekend.

 

Magnotta was spotted by a cafe owner in Berlin's Neukölln district on Monday, police said. "Today, at about 1.30pm, a witness recognised Mr Magnotta in an internet cafe," said Guido Busch, a spokesman for the city's police. "Seven officers went into the cafe and immediately overpowered Magnotta, who tried at first to give a false name. The officers didn't buy it."

German television quoted the owner of the cafe as saying Magnotta had spent an hour surfing the internet before officers entered and took him into custody.

 

Magnotta is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, Busch added.

French police say the suspect fled to France on 26 May and was hiding in a hotel in a Parisian suburb as late as last Friday. Detectives raided his hotel room where they found pornographic magazines, according to reports.

In a crime scene Montreal police say is the worst they have seen, Magnotta's flat contained a bloody mattress and pools of blood on the floor and in the refrigerator. Detectives said a janitor found a torso with no head or limbs in a suitcase in an alley behind the building.

 

Authorities believe a decomposing foot sent to the Conservative party headquarters on Tuesday and a hand found inside a package at a postal depot belong to the same person.

Magnotta has left a bizarre internet trail, portraying himself as an alleged kitten killer and bisexual porn star.
